Apple Watch Gets a Boost: Key Upgrades in watchOS 10.4

The headline feature of watchOS 10.4 is the addition of 28 new emojis. From a lime to shaking heads, a phoenix, and four gender-neutral family emojis, users now have a broader range of expressive options for communicating through iMessage and other messaging apps directly from their Apple Watch.

In addition to the emoji expansion, watchOS 10.4 introduces a new tweak for Apple Vision Pro users. Recognizing the shared double-tap gestures with Apple Watch, a new setting called “Ignore Double Tap” has been introduced for users of Apple’s spatial computer. This feature ensures a smoother experience, temporarily ignoring double-tap gestures while using Vision Pro.

For those unfamiliar with the intricacies, controlling Apple Vision Pro involves pinching fingers, while the same double-tap gesture controls both Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2. The introduction of the “Ignore Double Tap” feature addresses potential conflicts, providing a seamless experience for users of these devices.
